Keep Stepping

As a class, we separated into two groups to create an exercise program for each group of our geriatric clients. We each were assigned one client and tailored home exercise programs for them. My client was 70. This artifact demonstrates mastery of this competency because it shows how we tailored exercises for this population. We incorporated education pieces at the end of each exercise session to help them learn about sleep hygiene and learning about potential hazards in their home that they could possibly trip on or even adjustments to life an easier life.

Home Assessment

In my class Rehab Across the Lifespan, we learned about home assessments and the benefit of them. I was lucky enough to go with the PT and the OT on a home assessment for a 65 year old who just had a total knee replacement. This artifact demonstrates mastery of this competency because it shows how we can help be a part in our patients going back home and making sure their home life is safe for them to heal in.
