Program Outcome 8

Educate patients, families, and other health providers

Criteria

8.1. select teaching methods that are commensurate with the needs of the patient, caregiver or healthcare personnel

8.2. modify educational activities considering learner's needs, characteristics, and capabilities

8.3. determine the effectiveness of educational activities

For this program outcome, in my Kinesiology 1 class we had to make an exercise binder that has many different exercises for all joints and strengthening around those. Making an exercise program not only is educational for them, but it also helps us talk out the exercises and we can teach them how to be doing each exercise at home so they can have a successful recovery. We are constantly modifying exercises and considering our patient's needs, characteristics, and capabilities when making a home exercise program. As we are working with them through the whole rehab process we are determining the effectiveness of the exercises we gave them.
