Exhibit behaviors and conduct that reflect respect and sensitivity according to physical therapy practice standards

Criteria

2.1. adapt delivery of physical therapy services with consideration for patient differences, values, preferences, and needs

2.2. maintain productive working relationships with others

2.3. demonstrate flexibility in responding to the changing demands of the work environment

2.4. modify behavior based on self-assessment and constructive feedback

2.5. maintain patient privacy and modesty

2.6. value the dignity of patients as individuals

For this specific program outcome, I thought that my journal from Rehab Across the Lifespan class about Aging and death would demonstate perfectly of reflecting sensitivity and being able to use a personal issue and be able to use your sensitiy when working with patients that could be going through the same. It is important that we as physical therapist assistants to modify our behavior and value the dignity of our patients as individuals. As I stated in this journal, aging can be a difficult concept for some of our patients so it is important that are sensitive to what they may be feeling or saying.
